The future is bright as the sun that is causing me to squint.
This painting is a self-portrait celebrating the here and now, the enjoyment of a life in the sun, its warmth, and the challenge of the future.
My face is not smooth but a landscape of my life, marked with laugh and worry lines, sunspots, and scars.
The wrinkle lines are souvenirs of a life working in the sun as a signwriter, jokes shared and worries of yesteryear that have floated into the distance of memories.
Where will the lines lead me in the future? To new experiences, and new destinations. The options I choose will be evolve from past experiences creating an exciting future.
